The Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA) was founded in 1996 to serve as a professional trade organization for snow and ice management companies. It is a non-profit trade association that serves as the voice for an industry driven primarily by small businesses and independent contractors. The eight founding members of SIMA were independent contractors themselves, which has instilled the drive to empower small business into the organization.
Rubber-Cal will be in Schaumburg, IL from June 24 to 27 exhibiting at the Snow and Ice Symposium. The event is hosted by SIMA and will be held at the Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center.
The Snow and Ice Symposium is a trade show that hosts over 100 companies involved in the snow and ice management industry. SIMA began hosting this annual event so that industry professionals could get together to network with each other, see and buy new products, and learn about the latest developments in the world of snow and ice management.
For this year’s Snow and Ice Symposium, SIMA is emphasizing education and training for contractors and businesses. They have organized pre-conference training workshops to take place on the opening day of the trade show on June 24. These workshops will cover topics such as how to find solutions for hydraulic and electrical issues, how to properly calibrate equipment, and how to increase overall sales. The event will also feature a discussion about the latest research in the use of salt for snow and ice management. This year’s Snow and Ice Symposium will be an especially important one because of the heavy snowfall seen this year on the East Coast.
Rubber-Cal is a unique player in the field of snow and ice management because it provides rubber snowplow blades for use on a broad range of commercial snowplow vehicles. The Rubber-Cal team will be exhibiting their snowplow blades at the event.
