The X-Derm, one of the newest recycled sheet rubber products in Rubber-Cal's broad product offerings, is a "coarse, bumpy, and textured" rubber sheeting product. The uneven surface texture of this rubber sheet is designed to provide traction and resilience in a variety of general purpose applications. The X-Derm is stocked in rolls that are .060" (60 mil) thick by 36" or 48" wide. Full rolls are 100 ft long. For use in mechanical applications, such as foot-pedals.
Also one of the most customizable products, the X-Derm is available in thicknesses up to .500" (1/2") and customized widths up to 102". Standard sized rolls (36" or 48") are also available in custom cuts lengths, priced by linear footage. The X-Derm is available in full rolls with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), a peel-and-stick adhesive backing.
Since it is a sheet rubber product, the X-Derm can also be fabricated to fit specific dimensions, given that the number of pieces required is sufficient to justify production costs. In addition to fabrication by hand, this product can be die, waterjet, or laser cut to fit tolerances more exactly.
The X-Derm is an ideal traction-adding rubber sheet for a variety of applications. Since the product has excellent weather resistance, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The textured surface provides both grip and anti-fatigue resilient qualities, making the X-Derm a good choice for lining walkways, industrial shelving, equipment pedals, and delivery vehicles. In thicker gauges, the surface texture also acts to reduce sound reflection, making the X-Derm suitable for soundproofing and vibration reduction applications.
